My Background
I have been incredibly fortunate to spend much of the last 20 years in that exciting interface between high performance sport and business, learning lessons in one sector and reapplying them to the other. I revel in competition and like to see people winning, but only if they are winning in the right way.
My career began with eight years at Procter & Gamble, where I really developed my love of people development and went on via spells in the military and not for profit sectors before I joined Sport England. My role there was to develop the leadership and coaching capability and talent development systems across all funded sports to underpin our Olympic programmes. These systems still endure and have played a crucial part in GB’s three most successful Olympic Games ever.
Since taking the next step in 2018 I have shared this learning and practice with clients across a range of sectors, including engineering, construction, education and sport. I have served as a Non Exec Director for Triathlon England, continue to commit time every week to my volunteering work and enjoy my collaboration with a range of truly people focused organisations including The People Side.
I have been particularly successful working with future leaders, notably at The Carey Group. Those who want to show up at their best, to collaborate and learn, so they produce their very best work. These clients appreciate my performance focus and belief that ‘better never stops’, shaped from my experience in high performance sport and business environments. Helping these people make the difference, for themselves and for those they serve, is the work I find most rewarding.
Why I Work
“I am a compulsive explorer – of people and ideas as well as places and my own possibilities. I am passionate about helping people to realise their true potential, detect their true mission and perform at the highest level they choose. I am committed to helping courageous leaders create those special workplaces, where people go home in better shape than they showed up.”

When I Am Not Working
I currently live just outside of London, in the UK, was born in New York and have travelled extensively ever since. Claire and I spend our time working full time, taking care of three children at university and school, whilst still making sure we have as many adventures as we can along the way!
I love to be outside, to stay connected with nature and seem to have a penchant for running unsupported across deserts – certainly helps test some of the mental strength thinking! I enjoy running, cycling and ultra endurance events, always trying to find a time to be outside and exploring. I also love to cook and am determined this year to get acquainted with a few spices beyond chillies and cayenne!
