My Background

I started my career in education, teaching Junior High and High School students. During this time I created learning content, assessments, and hands-on projects from scratch, fostering a love for knowledge in my classroom. Besides teaching, I coached sports, sponsored Student Council, and led professional development workshops for fellow instructors.

After earning my Masters in Educational Technology from Grand Canyon University, I transitioned into the Instructional Design field. For the past 7 years, I have designed and built in-person and online learning experiences focused on employee onboarding, leadership development, customer service, software simulations, and product training. I’ve had the honor of developing adult learning for large organizations, including Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFIN), University of Phoenix, Early Warning/Zelle, and Amazon.

Today, I continue to create engaging experiences that connect with learners through storytelling and real-world scenarios. I firmly believe that information is more memorable when learners can connect to it personally. Additionally, I enjoy sharing the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired by mentoring other Instructional Designers. Finding or creating communities where we can sharpen each other as professionals and individuals brings me great joy.

When I Am Not Working

Erin's Chocolate Lab, Bear

I live in Arizona with my husband, stepson, and our chocolate lab, Bear. When I'm not working, I love taking early morning walks with Bear, teaching myself digital illustration on my iPad, and fishing or kayaking when it’s not scorching hot. Game nights with family and friends are a regular thing around our dining room table. We are a football-loving family! While my favorite team is the Texas Longhorns, we also support the Arizona State University Sun Devils since it’s where my husband played college ball and we both went to school.
